New LCD screen, help.

Picked up a new 24 inch LCD screen, and when i run it with a mates core i5 lappy, it lags like heck, i'm looking into buying a new laptop, and want to run my new screen with it, what kinda specs would i need to keep this bastard running smoothly?

Having that other screen active at a high resolution is almost entirely GPU based. I'd recommend getting a laptop with HDMI support (as long as the monitor supports it), and someting like a 6550 ATI or a 435M or greater, especially if your wanting to use it for gaming.

I believe so, it's sitting in my room in the box.. but i don't think she runs too smooth at 20fps..
