The essential film education list

Well to each their own. Inception was still a good movie when you look at it from a character point of view, the fact that he no longer cares if he is in a dream or the real world and all that. I liked it since it was one of the few movies around that time that actually made you think for a change :).

Also as an aside, if you are into architecture you may have enjoyed a lot of gems in there. I saw it with an architect friend of mine and she mentioned afterwards how all these famous architects were mentioned and certain buildings were in it etc etc.

Cheers

Any and all Coen brothers films.

(well, maybe not Barton Fink ... although John Goodman was a brilliant psycho)

Fun fact: machete is a spinoff from spy kids. I sh!t you not!
Fun fact: The origins of Machete go back all the way to the production of Desperado.

And now for some films from Asian directors, or Asian actors with [a] lead role(s);
The Killer
Ichi the Killer
Hard Boiled
Bullet in the Head
Full Metal Yakuza
Visitor Q
Agitator
Graveyard of Honor
13 Assassins
Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The Children of Huang Shi
Oldboy (highly recommended, also the only Korean movie in here)
