using nod32 at work and zonealarm at home. zonealarm has gamer mode so it answer annoying popups automatic,

they;re both ok. i guess u want one that use minimal resources in background being a gamer.

just downloaded uniblue optimizer as well. i think that did a fair bit.

got lots of lil tweaks and controls. CPU booster ram allocation and HDD.

also has option for what u can disable on windows startup

bleh each to their own i guess

Firm but fair

Trend Mico is a much nicer otpion then norten imo. Zonealarm is great too :).

So a few other optoins out there are

Zone-Alarm
Mcafee
Bit Defender – internet security
CA Vet
Kaspersky Internet Security
Trend Micro – Its small and easy to use and doesn’ t require as much user requirment

There’s an AVG Free Edition ——> http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus … ?tag=mncol

With those optimizer programs, I don’t recommend you use them unless you know what your doing.

Other programs you should use:

Spybot Search & Destroy – scan you box fortnightly or monthly with this to get rid of nasty malware/spyware(Use google).

Lavasoft Ad-ware – same as above but can detect additional crap(Use google).

Piriform CCleaner – clears cache, cookies and all those other RAM crap.

Finally grab a defrag prog, I use Smart Defrag once a month to keep the old HDD services and running nicely.

Your an inbecile full stop.

Avast is nice too. Uses a few resources. I haven’t run anything else in the past two years to compare it to though. It stays hidden until I download something with a virus from LimeWire. Don’t use LimeWire kids. But yeah, it’s good at finding things too.

i had norton, ran a few scans nothing detected but kept getting all these pop ups and stuff.

got McAfee few days later turned out i had 16 different viruses incl. 2 trojans. clicked on “fix” and all viruses deteced gone within 10 mins.

it costs abit to get but its worth it. minimal popups and protects my routher both wired and wirelessly

If you wanted to be my friend you wouldnt say i have pooey pants

They all pretty much do the job and its just a matter of preference. That being said not all virus definitions are up to date so updating the lists on a regular basis will greatly improve the protection.

AVG and avast! both suck.NOD32 is by far THE best AV you can get! it has the lowest memory footprint of any AV to date and it scan’s in real time useing said small mem footprint.Having said that if you can *cough* get a good copy GL. (xp64 anyway :P)

If you want the best AV protection, get NOD32.
