Zone alarm is the best firewall in the business and does not slow your pc down as someone else suggested (once trained as all firewalls require)
and as trigger said “commonsense”

I think I remember reading about that test.

I currently use Viper for Anti-virus, though I may get a Kaspersky licence for this year.

Incorrect. There is a big difference between a firewall and an AV. A firewall is a must if only to close unused ports and whatever, an AV is something that sits on your computer scanning for code signatures that could be malicious in nature. An AV is not needed if you have a good firewall and good common sense.
