I’m having a rather annoying issue with Brink’s sound
I’m on a laptop with inbuilt speakers, but I have a 2.1 system attatched via an AUX cable, and everything else seems to run fine through them.
Whenever i start up Brink,, the sound comes through the inbuilt speakers rather than my 2.1 system. I googled it and the fix was to “run the game in stereo mode” but where is the option that allows you to run the game in stereo?
I’ll update the sound card drivers when i’m uncapped, but does anyone know a fix?

Personaly my sound works fine but game is bright blue, but 1st game not ligit ๐ and 2 i think iam due new vid card.
But as to sound my settings are;
seta s_numberOfSpeakers “6”
seta s_forceNumberOfSpeakers “0”
you can find this in .cfg file located;
C:Documents and Settings*******Local SettingsApplication DataSKIDROW22350Database ^ More than likely Bethesda Softworks
But as cfg file says Brink will rewrite the config to suit the game so u need to setup an autocfg.
Hopefully this helps alittle if not you find what you need in that file.
Maybe you should fuc.k off and mind your own business…
Food for thought.
cheers man, i’ll give it a try when i get home

Doesn’t your lappy have a function button to disable speakers and force sound through AUX?
If not then do what kit suggested and use 2? instead of 6 since 6 is for 5.1 sound systems.
seta s_numbofspeakers “2”
As far as the “run game in stereo mode” goes, I thought brink will auto set itself to best possible settings unless you have your own config running…..
Something else you can try is run game, plug AUX and type ‘s_restart’ to reboot the sound.
Your an inbecile full stop.
