my mobo is watercooling, it was expensive so it shold be a dam good oneLOL so that should cancel the need for a non-stock heatsink? or would it still pay to get one

if TJMax is the percentage of max temp then it never once went over 50% even though it got to 98c…is that right? or did I miss read what you meant

No, the percent is that the CPU was running at 98%!! so that program was using all your CPU resources however THE ACTUAL temp of your CPU was 98 DEGREES CELSIUS and it was 2-3 degrees off being at the throttling temperature which could/may (possibly not) damaged your CPU. Sorry I have to fix my sentence structure it makes it hard to read.

Secondly, You could invest in a nice water cooling kit for your PC, try THERMALTAKE ProWater (quite a nice kit and reasonably priced at about $200. I would recomend using it and replacing the paste on your CPU with Arctic Silver will lower it that few more degrees. Also do you have a front intake fan? How many fans do you have? Add an extra side case fan as well 8cm is common.

Kind Regards, BR

holy bobbla lol thats impressive. 5.25Ghz….if only that was doable in a more conventional setting.

I get it now, i was within 2%of maxing out ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ˜ฏ . so would it be a good idea to invest in a watercooling heatsink instead of a fan heatsink? if so, any in particular that stands out from the rest? and at a reasonable price ? ๐Ÿ˜€

wanna go hardcore? go the vid stuff liquid nitrogen ๐Ÿ™‚ if you wanna push what u have all the way .. the the 5ghz project is your thang!

also if you want a super fast pc .. this is way old now .. i bet .. I-ram

[youtube:t2fq7ryh]b4jFpIt6bw8[/youtube:t2fq7ryh]

The tech is there .. and well see the vid.

couple I-ram with the 5ghz project.. and wow! u got some sers gamein shiz

The tech behind I-ram is well Ram.. Solid State memory.Used as a hard drive .. what is faster than Solid State memory?? nothin thats what it has no platter’s no moving parts at all .. Just watch the vid.

I hear that oil cooling is better than water cooling but that was one guy that told me that so it may be wrong. But it should work like a refrigerator. So it should be right. Try that out.

Why do you need to OC anyway? You play ET.

Just saw Lestat said liquid nitrogen. That’s an excellent idea. If you go that path however, you need dual 5870’s in crossfire, and a zillion LEDs in your case, with a see through panel. And like, a 10-disk RAID array. A 2TB or 2, some SSD’s, some raptors. And you should have a suitable monitor configuration. Anything less than 2 x 2 is pathetic. And you need to move somewhere with better internet, and start playing better games. And you’re never allowed to get married or even have a girlfriend.

If you do get that setup though, give me your address so I can pop by and ‘see’ it ๐Ÿ˜‰

fans are sweet, 25cm side fan, 12cm front fan and standard 8cm fan at back.

It seem’s watercooling is out of my price range at the moment :s so would something like this do the trick?

or the next one up

Top end fan/pipe cooling instead of water cooling.

I meant more like steal it.

Fans are noisy. Be sure to clean your case semi-regularly. I need to get a thing of pressurised air and clean mine some time. It gets horrifically loud because of all the dust in it.

I assume your joking… because vacuum cleaners create a huge amount of static and that is really dangerous for your electrical components, I would never use a vacuum cleaner to clean the inside of my comp, maybe the outside case but that’s about it.

a joke no? i have used this on many many pc’s and they ALL function to this day! u do not place the tubing close you use it from range.People will be temped to use it at close range. The reason it is seen as “bad” is coz ppl would place the tube as close as possible. Some will even Touch the m/b with the tube as they think the air is not doing its job.Compressed Air in a can is just a way to make $$.Another alt is an Airbrush,Same as a can of air.And in my time i have done a lot of things that would make the new “breed” die in shock.Yet all and every pc i have worked on still works to this day.I have even touched ram without an anti-static strap. That ram still works.its all scare tactics …to make you Buy what you do not really need. The only real way to destroy a pc is to damage the circuits.. or break a resister solder or two.i have been tinkering with pc’s since the commodore 64.

Bunnings dude. Ftw. I’ll pick you up a can when I go there next.

I seem to recall a certain someone using metho to wash their CPU or heatsink or something?

if you want a scarier story .. i have even pulled apart a crt monitor and messed with its bands (if that is what they are called better use of a a word not found) while it was plugged into mains power… i was adjusting focus and the like …even did the same on a TV.powered up switched on.So i could fix the problem as i could see the change when i moved those band things ๐Ÿ™‚ and yet i am not dead? it even gives some kind of warning … but if it can be pulled apart .. i do it ๐Ÿ™‚ i like to see how thing’s “tick” even a monitor (crt) holds a charge enuff to kill a human being 10x over even when it has been unplugged for 24hrs.But i guess in school these days is taught “be safe” “danger” ect … You live but only once … (maybe) …Dare to tempt fate ๐Ÿ™‚

and as a 11yr old i decided to find out what happened if i put 3 pieces of wire into a power socket hold them together and flip the switch,Yup i did it and i got 3 burn marks on my fingertips,Probably would have killed me if the fuse did not burn out.threw me across the room and all but meh it was fun.

You know how u rub ur feet and Zap someone with static charge? well i can do that w/o the rub and generate enuff charge to knock someone out,Guess i am what they call a “freak”

Now I didn’t quite wash it… I just used it to get the old thermal paste off… however.. when I put it back in the mobo it was a little damp.. and back in the day I didn’t understand what the black crap was on it (not being racist it was just eroded thermal paste). I was warned about it being “dangerous” or something only after I did it, so that advice wasn’t the most use to me ๐Ÿ˜›
