I seem to recall a certain someone using metho to wash their CPU or heatsink or something?

Now I didn’t quite wash it… I just used it to get the old thermal paste off… however.. when I put it back in the mobo it was a little damp.. and back in the day I didn’t understand what the black crap was on it (not being racist it was just eroded thermal paste). I was warned about it being “dangerous” or something only after I did it, so that advice wasn’t the most use to me ๐Ÿ˜›

Did it survive???

oh and compressed air is pretty cheap at smith’s d.ick…i mean d.ick smiths

Not for just an overclocked CPU at that kind of gradient 450Watts should be sufficient. Also the computer was a Pentium 3 and it did survive althoug there was a lot more wrong with it, and the fact I ran the CPU unknowing that it required thermal paste for 1 month I was impressed it didn’t burn on fire. But when I finally did put paste on it, it only lasted another week and then finally the CPU gave way and I hugged it dearly and it passed on.

Then I got this computer a month later ๐Ÿ™‚ And I find every excuse to upgrade it, more an obsession then a requirement these days, isn’t it for everyone though. ๐Ÿ™‚

yea I’m the same, if i can get it and it will improve it I will have it lol

Yea i was gonna get a 1000w psu, coz the heatsink i want requires a fair bit, plus i want to put a better gpu in it too. And with the over clocking I want to be safe. Plus 1000w will not need to be replaced for a few years yet ๐Ÿ™‚

Upgrade your interwebz first. An upload rate of 10 kbps would be an improvement for you.

Trust me I wish I could the best plan out of all internetz I can get is a MAX VERY MAX OF 256kbps UPLOAD which would give me approx 30kb/s upload. Currently it at 128kbps.. divide that by 8 and you’ve got Hell when trying to upload a 25MB Map XD

even a monitor (crt) holds a charge enuff to kill a human being 10x over even when it has been unplugged for 24hrs.But i guess in school these days is taught “be safe” “danger” ect … You live but only once … (maybe) …Dare to tempt fate ๐Ÿ™‚

What are you smoking to figure that out?

and as a 11yr old i decided to find out what happened if i put 3 pieces of wire into a power socket hold them together and flip the switch,Yup i did it and i got 3 burn marks on my fingertips,Probably would have killed me if the fuse did not burn out.threw me across the room and all but meh it was fun.

You were only lucky since the fuse blew, any other day you would probably be dead needless to say these days with safety switches electrocutions would be rather hard to achieve.

You know how u rub ur feet and Zap someone with static charge? well i can do that w/o the rub and generate enuff charge to knock someone out,Guess i am what they call a “freak”

Again what are you smoking?

LOL it’s not what’s being taught, it’s common sense! There’s 240v going through that tv that you havent turned off. One frayed wire exposing the copper and your fried!!!

Its not the volts that’ll kill people with electrocutions, its the amps(evident with stun guns as they zap you with 100,000volts+). No sure but its something like 30milli amps across the heart can be fatal.

Your an inbecile full stop.

noobItUp <> sorry I started playing with butz again

THIS is lols.

Afcourse its the current that kills humans. Plus depends which way it runs through the body as you are getting electricuted and the exposure time.

People have survived lighting strikes in the past so getting zapped by trying to take your toast out from the toaster with a conducting knive is an every-day expreience waiting to happen.

As for CPU overclocking. ASUS boards with dual-core intell CPUs are knows to be most used. E8200 and E8400 CPUs have been widely used since they offer great stability and ASUS mnotherboards for the BIOS manipulation and userfriendly overclocking. Just my opinion on this matter…search around but ive read E8400 getting overclocked at and over 4GHz ( http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/286 … 8400s.html)
