Get one. Will decrease latency. I highly doubt there will be any idiots that post saying “That will never work, it won’t do anything”.

That’s only the case if you’re the world’s biggest retard that games using a non-ethernet cable connection. Wireless internet for FPS? And whines about lag? Retard ^ infinity.

i have an onboard network card. a round trip ping to my router and back took (according to windows) less than 1ms.

C:Usersgem>ping 192.168.1.2

Pinging 192.168.1.2 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.2: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.2: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.2: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.2: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.2:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

oh, and i’m downloading a crapload of movies right now too.

only a fool would consider a 1ms ping saving an advantage over your opponent.

this is monster audio cable of the networking world.

>.< That was who the post was directed at – noobs/fools who complain about lag.

This is beyond stupid with all those smilies at the side. I have to scroll down 1.5 screens to hit the submit button. Because some idiot added a trillion new smileys? Does this annoy anyone else?

The card really isn’t worth the money. Sure everything it does would speed up your networking very marginally, but the only timing this card actually speeds up is inside the network stack, which isn’t actually going to effect anything much anyway. The little effect that it seems to be much debated it has isnt worth the money at all XP

it might be worth it if your computer is doing a thousand activities simultaneously, and your gaming is struggling under the load. then again, a serious gamer would not be in that situation.

In Task manager to select both your cores for utlilization to run your et.exe application run et and then in taks manager choose processes and the select if you have dual core or core2 duo or quad whihch ever tick all the available cores. To do this right click on your et apllication and choose go to process. Then on the highighted process choose “set affinity” and choose all cores available to be ticked”

BR ๐Ÿ™‚ Regards

Also try changin you zone megs (Ram used for change of maps and similar ingame com_zonemegs “32”)

I didn’t read the article beyond the first paragraph. I was counting on the noobs to do the same, not the more experienced users to click it and post.

Did Buzz even click it?
