Blusky im totally with ya..
i’m getting that little annoying lag spike and it grows from little to huge over the period of time playing. i have no idea on how to fix it.. maybe make sure your fps is up at about 45-76 and keep it rolling smooth, /snaps should be 20 and /cl_maxpackets should be 60-80 for maximum gaming 😆

Hey I updated PB and stuff and am still getting that weird lag.

It’s like every 10-15 minutes or something my fps drops to 0 for like 0.2 seconds, this lasts for about 2-3 minutes – it’s unplayable during this time.

Any ideas what’s causing this?

I know a lot of people are getting this problem so I thought it deserved it’s own topic, I haven’t been able to fix it myself so I was wondering if anyone else has. My PC is absolute crap so I think I get it worse than everyone else. It only started 5(give or take) days ago along with the PB GUID AUTH UNKN problem (I didn’t get that though). I don’t think it’s my config or PC (cos it only started a few days ago and lots of people are getting it.)

Any help would be appreciated.

Fps lag is mainly caused by crap computers so if you havent done so make your picmip to legoland/marioworld graphics setting, fastsky on, wolfparticles off and ‘0’ to every other cvar that makes ET pretty.

TBH it might be pb doing its thing sucking up all your system resources so try this in your cfg:

“seta pb_sleep 500” //offsets the pb scanning to 500ms = less strain on your dying box.

@nelots – you probably wouldn’t believe how crappy my PC is 🙂

I know how to tweak ET CFGs + graphics. My CFG has pretty much everything at crap graphics.

I have pb_sleep at 500, already and have updated PB.

@BR – I played a few maps and didn’t get it just then. Did you change something serverside?

@blusky – I’m guessing you have the top of the range box of yester-year……. like the awesome P4 with onboard sound, 128mb gf2 mx card, 1gb SD ram, a massive 60GB hdd that I had back in the early 2000’s.

If all fails, format and re-install everything! 😀

How much better would I be with a new PC, monitor and mouse that could get 125FPS? (i’ve never seen that number on this PC :P)

I know little about PCs so I dunno where to buy a good PC from. I know the generic harvey norman and the like stores are overpriced by like double.

As I said it wouldn’t be my PC (I think my pc makes it worse though…) cos it only started a few day ago and people are getting similar lag.

When there’s anymore than 6v6 on oz I rarely even see it hit 43 fps :<

Blusky you could get a new PC that will run wolf for 125 FPS for under 1000 EASILY! If you have a look around buy from a varying of places a PC to get 125 FPS could be bough for about $650 if you build it yourself.

I get 50+ fps on maps like frostbite, adler and braundorf.( In the closed bits with no spam going on) I can still play well with <30 fps though. I guess it's normal to play with crap FPS.

I have FPS capped at 76 but it RARELY hits that mark….

I played 2 maps just before and didn’t get it.

@BR I want a ‘gaming’ quality PC that can handle new games that are coming out and I have no idea how to build a PC :P.
