hmm

i already tried upping the memory usage, altho i wouldn’t have thought that was the problem as i have 3 GB of RAM…still nothing.

as for graphics drivers, i get a notice automatically if mine are out of date, i went and checked any1, they are the latest.

It doesnt matter how much ram you have if you havent told et to use it. If you dont change those settings you could have 56345252gb of ram and et would only use a little over 56mb of it :S

My other suggestion is, try turning all your graphics settings all the way up. I’ve noticed with my card that if I have it on low settings then it can cause games to get really low fps. I noticed this in RTCW if I have my gfx turned down (it was getting low fps on default graphics so i turned all the way down :p) on mp i got like 30fps, if i turned them up to max settings on 1024×768 res it goes right up to 100 XD. (Although this could have been caused by me running RTCW in an emulator instead of the graphics card coz their linux version for 1.0 had menu bugs for me :S ).

Try it anyway, stick everything up to max 😀

if you do have a special config: open your text editor, load up the config and change the lines to do with com_hunkmegs com_zonemegs and com_soundmegs. If they don’t exist then add them.
restart et (if its open)

Had none of the above so this was a most usefull post but am still getting 90fps and lower
settings are now
hunkmeg 512
zonemeg 256
soundmeg 256

as i have 4 gig of ram in system even if its only stating 3gig “vista 32bit” 512 meg graphics card i know its not real high but had to be limited to 2.5$ when building this system lol.

not sure what else to do so will see what happens over the next few days.

well we seem to have lost the new server, so your back to lag again XD The new server had exactly same config as old one I think, so your problem must be caused by network instability. Take a 1 minute demo of your lagometer, and I’ll see if I notice anything :S (You’ll have to use fraps or something, /record wont take info from lagometer).

i used to hav a fps of around 30-100
i was told to change it to 300 (/com_maxfps 3000
i dont know if it did help me but something did
as its much better
still get occasional lag though

problem resolved, thnx for your input…will leave here for other players to look at
