My fps are going spastic since I got my new ssd’s, they go from 125 to 20 in one second, not all the time but very frequently. Abolisher spent 1 and 1/2 hours trying to fix it, updating drivers etc but not much if any change. Seems to be worse with more ppl on, consequently I don’t play much at night anymore. Any ideas?

I’ve created a couple of new commands on the server.

Try, !fixnet, !fixgfx.

See if either of those help you out.

Try setting your ET.exe affinity to ONE core. And then set it’s priority to High. <- If you don't know how to do this let us know.

Also I recall you saying that you got your SSD fixed?, Did they actually take it away adn replace it or did they just reformat it…?

If your still experiencing this odd lag. Perhaps take a demo with your lagometer on and let us see exactly what is going on with it.

Regards, BR

Go to run->taskmgr

Then start ET.

WHile ET is running -> Go back to teh task manager and go to processors, find et.exe, right click it and choose affinity. Then select CPU 0, and untick the rest hit ok.

Then go back to ET and pewpew and see if it helps.

Regards, BR

Hey mate.

If it only happens on the new HDD and you have updated vid drivers since installing your image and none of BR’s hax are helping ๐Ÿ˜€ , try updating HDD firmware as SSD’s get a bit grumpy without it.

IF still no good, try updating Bios and chipset drivers.

Thanks for your help guys I’ll pass this on to my man Abs, and we’ll see what we come up with.

I tried !fixgfx, today and it did help, but only gave me a max of 75fps at least they where steady.

If it were steady FPS Bandido, then try the doing, com_maxfps 125. And keep upping it until it stays 100% stable all times. Or you can make it 100 even ๐Ÿ™‚ or any number you like for max fps.

lol 71…76 has been my staple since I got back into et, no idea why, just has been. Although if I limit it to say 300 it’ll sit around
280 for stock maps ๐Ÿ˜€

Is it on specific maps Bandido?
On some maps my fps are all overd the shop , the question is whether it is related to the maps in rotation themselves , & have you made sure your drivers are optimal for your hardware?

See the link in my forum sig , it’s not Quake3 engine specific but it may help in general.

Are you running any antivirus / firewall when you play?

i.e Trend Micro Security and Norton are generally so process heavy that they cause spikes / dips in FPS
