Yes i0n some maps seem worse. So frustrating, even the audio is scratchy at times, someone said to Abs there could be a short in the mother board, could this be the case. Could there be a compatability problem with the new ssd’s. Even the internet is slower loading up and the guy in the repair shop said it would be faster, loading up ET will pause where it never has before. I’ve turfed my pc and hooked up the old one, now the internet wont work and Abs is camping and snail is at work 🙁

Overheating. Or something consuming your memory. That or as someone said above a process besides er running in the background using up all you CPU cycles. Looad up taskmgr in run go to processes and check what is using the most CPU.

Download a program called core temp it give temperature readings for your CPU physical cores and possibly gfx . it’s free and lightweight
The guy in computer shop said try downloading directx 9, he said its needed for older games
I’m unsure that you would require DirectX.., considering the game is starting however try installing this. Also what Graphics Card do you have intalled? I assume you have a card, not integrated graphics? I highyl recommend informing us of your GFX card since if you have initial drivers especially with NVIDIA, sometimes are not packed with OPENGL, although you must have it since your running the game, they may have updated it since. Abolisher should know how to get the info. IN the meanwhile install below! 🙂

What CPU do you have exactly on that machine? Also are you running ET with com_hunkmegs 192. Type /com_hunkmegs in game.

what am i meant to be looking at in core temp the freq of all 4 cores are 50 or higher when et is on
CPU= AMD Phenom II X4 995
50 Degrees for a CPU is fine. But to have your CPU running at 80% for ET.. Perhaps there is some other application hogging your CPU.
