Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about possibly overheating GPU’s.
Only new things installed is TS3 beta 26 (was running at the time) & 11 windows updates for win7 , the rest is my normal install.
Reconnecting didn’t resolve the issue but closing game client & re-openning it did , ran a few steam games after that without issue.
I have installed physX on top of the ATI drivers some time ago , but I suspect that is not related as it happened for the first time yesterday.

Thought maybe there was a memory leak or something that may have caused the issue , but reached the possibility of that conclusion after I had already closed the application. ๐
Any suggestions would be welcome , pls remember this is a tech support thread (that means you Frog! ๐ )
Cheers

Hax,
That sometimes happens to me, and just a restart works, but you’ve got a pretty beast computer so maybe its physical problems i.e. poor ventilation/cooling rather than programs?
If you wanted to be my friend you wouldnt say i have pooey pants

^^^^^^^^^ I agree with the above post.
Download a GPU monitor gadget for your desktop, an advanced one and see if any of the catorgories help slove your problem.
My gpu gadget tells me temp, load, mem usage, fan temp and 1 other thing i think.
FYI my gpu runs et at 3% Load and your gpu is a few better than mine so it must be cooling????
hope you get well soon
love
There is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable… I simply am not there.

I’ve already given aaron baddeley the call up…
might wanna try run vacuum cleaner 1.0
Did that last week , not a dust issue.
But can always repeat previous steps to be sure.
If it’s cooling that’s a more serious issue , the case is garbage imo (generic pos) .
Hasn’t happened again, willl keep you posted.
Cheers

Is the GPU hot to touch? If its warm, its ok, if its hot, its not happy.
Vid cards in general these days have a problem with heat, its all the casing that comes with them that traps the heat inside.
Id remove the casing so the heatsink can do its job properly. And setup a fan that extracts the heat directly from the GPU.
Like fliq said, get a GPU monitor to see what its doing when it crashes.
Cheers
