this may seem stupid but if u are using a laptop
check if the charger is in or u have battery coz it always happens to me

Yeah sloth is right, that could make a difference, its possible that your laptop is trying to conserve battery but decreasing network activity when it thinks you don’t need it. Would be a weird thing for a laptop to do, but in laptops everything seems to be about battery conservation :S
