I have been trying to fix my server problem for a while now and today i came close i re downloaded 2.60b and made a new guid with all that comes with it.. than i got jareds full etpro and now i am able to go on servers with etpro althought when i go on and get to awaiting gamestate i get redirected to main menu with a massage saying “Incorrect ET.exe Version.” how can i fix this and also on the ones that allow me to get on requires me to download from server and it doesnt start downloading on any of em.

If your running 2.60b then you should only get that error when trying to play on servers below 2.60…. try downloading a patch selector.
What version of servers were you playing on i advise you wicked to try to connect to our etpro server as it requires 2.60b the latest patch pleas read my post about our new etpro server that will help you alot!
Regards, btw that error only occurs if you haven’t patched your et and playing on 2.60 or your tryin to connect to a 2.55 server on a 2.6 or vice versa :D:D

you can only play on what version you run like
2.55 client and only run on 2.55 servers
2.60 client and only run on 2.60 servers
2.60b works only on 2.60b servers
use patch selector or you can just install ET into 2-3 directories
well that i new.. i mean for oz server i cant dl anything. just keeps restarting a 1kb

Why dont you try a new install of xp…. or vista even… linux? either of them will work with a fresh install and nicely updated drivers

well then david u havent installed it properly. Check that when u go on 2.60 servers on your 2.60b version that its actually running 2.60b and not some other old version of et. (In case your looking for an easy way to check, hit the consol key and look in the bottom right).

you cant play 2.60 on 2.60b i tried and it fails every time 🙂
I know that you can, GA runs 2.60b and our server runs 2.60. I know for a fact i can go on both using the same executable. Plus 2.60 and 2.60b use EXACTLY the same protocol so there is no way it can differentiate between them.

Now that i think of it, I think 2.60b servers check md5 sums on the exe though. 2.60b will work on both as i said. 2.60 will only work on 2.60.

google et starter pro…get the lates version, it add your servers defining the patch for each one, and it will act like xfire, but patch your game b4 it connects you
