google et starter pro…get the lates version, it add your servers defining the patch for each one, and it will act like xfire, but patch your game b4 it connects you

ET Starter Pro is awesome, it’s kind of like XFire, that you can add favourite servers to it and stuff.

That said, I dual install.

I don’t see why you’d want to go on old versions of et, quite a few people might play them, but alot more people play 2.60/2.60b. I could understand if the game was nearly dead, and you had to hunt across all et versions to find a server with a few people on, but thats obviously not the case. Why would u want to run any version other than 2.60b? :S

cuzz the game is dead and there are quite a few 2.55 servers out there still there is this etpub server tracker somewhere it had over 9k of servers any et/etpub version and only 1479 had 1 or more person on there including bots running so maybe 1200 servers with people of all the dead ones

stink did u just call et dead? Coz if u think et is dead, you have not seen a dead game. When you play a game that only has one active server, and it only has about 20 people on it, MAX at any one time (and this is when it doesnt matter what country ur in, this is the only active server, so you have to play with the lag), then its pretty close to dead, et is nowhere near that. XD

you know how much easier it is just to dual install? If you want a way to save space, copy ur et dir, patch it, then get the old binary, call it et-old.exe then copy it into the new directory, make a shortcut to each binary (et.exe and et-old.exe) and dump somewhere useful, that way you have two dif versions of et running off same files. So much simpler than patching it on et startup, with this et starter pro…

Just dual install. If you have 2.60b, install ET in a new directory and patch it to 2.55. It’s easier than setting up ET Starter Pro

Admiral thats pretty much what i was saying, except that instead of having the installs seperate (so you have to have two of everyfile), u stick the old et executable in with the new one, then run it from there, so they share the files 😀

and have both Exe’s in the same folder?

why take up all that space twice with both mods? when you can just install this small program and it dus it all for you…

because urself, with that program it patches on startup which is really stupid, when u could just have it have both installed at once.

Why take up what space with two mods? This way it uses less space then et + et starter. coz its just et + 1 et exe file.

No, install et 2.55 then copy the et.exe file to another place rename it to et-old.exe, then patch the et 2.55, copy your et-old.exe to same place as et.exe then make a shortcut to each, one will launch 2.55 (the et-old) the other will launch et 2.60
