Hi All,
BR has informed me that the screenshots I’m uploading are “massive” & said resize them before uploading them,k fair enough.

My default windows screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 which win7 auto selected & I am used to all apps running at that resolution

But I have nfi how to resize & I’m using win7’s version of MS-Paint with it’s bobbla layout along the top, looks exactly like the top of all office 2007 programs which I don’t know how to use since they ditched the office 2003 layout which was logical!

BR’s instructions were as follow’s

open paint, just use the scale option on there and cut it down a heap :), then save it. THen upload hte new image. 😛

I open paint, select a image to open jpeg, etc & after I click the resize image button, the new window in it has numbers & other stuff ,which means nothing to me!

So I’ll upload another epic screenshot in the hopes someone will actually know how to make it work!

TIA

i0n

P.S. BR changed upload’s parameters since I posted? Image doesn’t fill the whole screen! Would still like to know how to resize an image though. 🙂

Ok, well since you are using Windows 7 Here goes :).

1. Take a screenshot of whatever on your screen.
2. Open paint.
3. Click on the white space and hit CTRL +V (paste).
4. The near the top on the left hand side There is a “Resize” Option. Click that and you can adjust the image to what you want.
5. Once you are finished hit, OK and the image should be resized.
6. Now you have to save it, to do this save button at the very top of the screen and name, choose a save location and then hit save. If you want the image to be smaller in filesize which is good for everyone, choose the JPG/JPEG, GIF options for filetype.
7. Now upload your new saved image which has been resized.

Kind Regards, BR

It was the highlighted points that were killing me (the numerical values) but the rest of those points I was already doing but following your instructions I think it worked?
File size is smaller if that’s the benchmark to be going by.
Used resize by percentages? So I don’t know how to resize by pixels?
Anyways, uploading another screenshot & you can decide if it worked.

Cheers!!!

Hey, I0n it worked very well! :).

Also to limit by pixels in the resize windows their is 2 radio buttons (the buttons that when you click they have a dot in the middle of them. AT the top you have yours set on Percentage Just click the Pixels radio box and you can start limiting it in pixels!

Have phun, Cheers, BR

I see the “radio buttons” I think what I need is a table of pixel scales vs resolutions

So example pixel 2976 x 4380 might translate as 1920 x1080 resolution (these are fictional pixel values folks) & down the resolution scale so I have an idea of what most ppl prefer for viewing without having to use the sliders on images because I realize many of you may have different monitors & what looks good on my monitor may not look crash hot on your own!

Cheers for the help,it’s only when it’s explained ,you realize how much you don’t know!!! :rnade:

FWIW microsoft word does a good job of minimising any images. Here @ work we generally paste stuff into a word doc to email it around. Then you don’t have to futz with the image size / quality.

Probably not such a good thing for a non-corporate where you can’t assume everyone has M$ werd. But just sayin’

Test.
