so my brother has just started playing et on his computer…
every now and then we have a bit of lag.. i think its from our internet
(which is i think 1.5mb/s or something like that.. (156kb/s dl)
because 2 computers running et are there any recommended settings?
ive read about this ages ago but cant remember
i know these 2 commands
/net_port (default is 27960)
/net_restart
/net_port i change to “27961” so we can both connect on same server
then i do /net_restart to restart it.
but my questions is, is there any other recommended settings for better game play ?

You can try lowering the rate to 25000 instead of 5000
So type /rate 25000 in console

It is VERY rare if ever for an ISP to lag….. 99.9% of lag is due to the PCs on your Internet.
It might be the obvious stuff like you or flatmate downloading, on YouTube or whatever….
If not the obvious then it is more likely (a) background programs like those in your taskbar or (b) trojans/viruses
You would be surprised the number of innocent programs running in your taskbar that constantly access the Internet.
Alot of players when gaming online close all programs so their net doesn’t get interfered with… Some use this program “End It All”

As long as you have 2 different installs, and 2 different ETkey’s you should be fine.

its true i got a supposed 20mg connection and the lowest i can get on OZ is mid 70s with low ppl, full server and im back to 100
