Hey guys I need to do a reformat 🙁 what files in et do I need to keep so I can keep my profile etc?? is etkey one of them?
just your map files, etkey if u want and your script files. Thats about it
also keep your etpro folder as you should have it as the latest one
To keep your XP:
etpub/profiles (whole folder)
etmain/profiles (whole folder)
etmain/etkey (single file)
Maps:
etmain/*.pk3 (all pk3 files)
To download less:
etpub/etpubclient something something something .pk3
etpro/etproclient something something something .pk3
first maybe you could explain why you need to reformat? Its possible someone here can help you fix ur pc without reformatting?
Second i would just burn you whole et folder to a cd/dvd, much easier than picking out multiple files 😀 (then you don’t have to download the installer and patches again as well).

Yeah, it would too just be easier to burn C:Program FilesET to disc. Do that. Smart smart Lithium.
CD? what the? don’t we all use USB’s instead of CDs now?
Yeah. But I delete from USB’s quite often. Where as CD’s I’m more reluctant to erase/throw away.

Format has been done and ET reinstalled and updated, with my profiles etc kept intact.
The reason for the format was comp was running extremly slow and ET was crashing, so I couldn’t really save the whole ET folder just in case it was something in ET that was causing it.
But it’s all fixed now 🙂
