Once upon a time, in the not too distant past, a gamer by the screen-name Joke was having some trouble with his ET.
One day, Joke’s brother was playing ET (Turd Strangler) on the Desktop computer. Joke noticed some of his friend were playing on the same server, so decided to join in the game on his laptop (connected to the same router via ethernet).
Joke joined the server, but after 20 seconds of being properly connected, Joke’s ET got the “connection error” message. He tried a “/reconnect” to the server, but the same thing happened within 20 seconds of joining the game. Joke “/quit” ET, then re-opened ET and connected to OZ server. Same thing again. Meanwhile, Joke’s brother was having some mild packet loss, but no major connection error. Joke thought that it might have something to do with the laptop itself, so he decided to restart the laptop. When that was done, Joke re-opened ET and connected to OZ. Same thing happene again.
With great frustration, Joke decided to ask the OZ forum community for help, as he was out of ideas on how to fix his ET. He started a new thread in the “ET Support” section and waited for a reply.
