I have had a lot of trouble finding any Aussie servers lately. I think I have been able to get on to yours maybe two or three times in the last couple of weeks and only when it appears on the list. I have reinstalled ET a couple of times and updated Punkbuster but nothing much seems to make a great difference. Any ideas of what is going on?

u can go into the command line (press the ~ button under the esc button)
and type in /connect 60.234.73.180 make sure u right the number down in case u forget it!
and it should load the server automatically.

Could get a server browser like XFire, All Seeing Eye or HLS (Can’t remember what the letters stand for unfortunately).
I can’t think of any other way to find OZ servers. Have you tried leaving it for half an hour and seeing if it pops up then? Or unrestricting all the search things?
Connecting via IP is an easy way if you want to only play on one server though. Just /connect [ip]
Ours is 60.234.73.180:27960, so you’d just go /connect 60.234.73.180:27960 in the console (press tilde/~/` (the number to the left of ‘!1’, above tab).
XFire should solve your problem easily, though it is a moderately sized download (30MB I think? Somewhere between 10 and 100 anyway).

I included the port. And gave him a list of alternatives because he wanted to know how to SEE australian servers. Not just play on our server.

I used the ip address to log on but got bounced with the message that I was running an incompatible version of the game.
I ended up reinstalling both the game and the 2.60b patch from a clean source and things now seem OK, I can log on and play at least. Thanks for the help and the rapid response.

hey u guys are all noobs 😛
use splatterladder. it has lists of servers, players and u can filter the server search as well (limit to oceania).
if u are unable to use it. u can use other programs or even look in ET in the server list. just click on ping and the servers with the lowest ping pop up first.

go there, find the server ips, then go into ET and /connect ip. remember that you do not need to enter the ending bit unless its other than 27960 eg.
for OZ’s server, the ip is 60.234.73.180:27960. u do not need to enter the 27960 bit.

technologic xfire can do that as well, pretty much any server browser can. + xfire can let you instant message your friends and let them see what game your playing plus do voicechat, download files etc etc
I’m quite pissed off at the makers of xfire for not releasing a linux version, but you can’t deny that its a great program 😀

its still in beta but it has full support for xfires data base 😛

All Seeing Eye was abandoned? I’m pretty sure you can still download it and it’ll work though. Won’t it? I don’t know, I pretty much always use IP. Sorry if it is abandoned for like telling you to get it dude.
