Mars you using mac, and yes I don’t htink there is any .run files in the new .pk3 only .so and .dll so windows and nix support. Have you tried using bootcamp, that will allow you to run windows apps on your mac and you should be able to install ET there and get PB working as well through it.

well acutally.. i mean they don’t support mac any more.. at all.. with older version they may however. Have you considered trying to use boot camp its pretty nice (can’ tremmber weather it is free or not, if it isn’t well…) you can try another program there is lots of windows emulators out there.

Yep, know about Bootcamp, have it setup and it works … but need to reboot into Windows to play. Parallels and VMWare are fine for everything except graphic intensive games. Looks like I’ll be getting more work done now …

If there’s no native Mac support on the server – stick a fork in me, I’m done. Not being melodramatic, just can’t practically do it.

Ok mate, well Ill turn off pure server then for now. 🙂 Just make sure you do cl_allowdownload “0”.

I guess this means other mac users will be having the same issue in this case so it is ok and pure server isn’t that much of a concern considering the fixes thave have additionally been added to the server patchign many buffer overflow problems which could only be exploited by modified .exe per client, so welcome aboard and continue having fun mate :), just was lookign for an option for ya rather then disabling pure server but its not biggy currently.

not to be nasty or nuffing but who seriously uses a mac ? (unless its a phone?even then its questionable.) and why would you use a mac.what games if any (new ones) offer any kind of Mac support? (sorry i just hate mac (apple) ) its just me.Also this explains why ppl are sayin they can see santa hats n shiz .. coz pure is off once more.

No offense but why do you make such changes just to cater for 1 mac user?
I mean if the majority of players were using macs then fine but it’s only overmars and he can fix it easily by rebooting to winblows.

Oh god, don’t start on Mac vs PC here. I use a Mac because for what I do it’s the proper tool for the job, is most efficient, and works. It’s not just me, there are many more regular players on the server that use Macs. For someone who is annoyed when people don’t have their back, you didn’t take long to stick the knife in with this one Stat. This is make or break for me with ET. If it doesn’t work with Macs, I’m out. No big loss for you or others obviously, no Santa hat is more important, fair enough.

(Maybe you just don’t know how to use Macs properly or don’t know much about them Stat? That’s the only reason you’d be putting forward the ridiculous comparisons you have)

i said it wasn’t meant as nasty i just don’t like Apple in any form that’s all. But yeh i think that is why the nightly build was dropped coz it did no longer support mac’s so pure server off is cool 🙂 i kinda liked it that way b4 coz i had sounds that only i could hear and some cool gun skins.You kinda took me the wrong way… i have always disliked Mac’s since day dot.its odd one prob gets fixed and screws up something else 🙁
