You’ll most likely be limited to an nVidia card, possibly a Geforce 6200 card 256mb or 512mb one. Should cost about $70-$90 without shipping.

You could try to scope out some x1700 Ati cards but I dont recommend them since the older Ati cards sucked balls.

yes they downclock 🙂 and i have a 7800gs for sale agp 8x 🙂 (came out of my mum’s althon xp pc when i upgraded her machine)

they downclock auto,same as ram does for example if you have 1 stick of 133 and 1 of 333 it will downclock to the lowest ram the 133

Anyways…1GB kingston $60-80 would be sufficent to run both your PC and a 6600GT $70-130 card on that motherboard. Assuming you have a decent power supply (~350W should do). Id leave the PCI slot for something else you might want to connect in the future and use up the better alternative for you graphics card.

Hey mess think about getting a 400W power supply aswell. If your current PSU is older than 5yrs then it’ll slowly start juttering and failing.
Last thing you would want is to replace your CPU, add more ram + GPU just to have it all fry in a PSU failure.
