the initial theory is incorrect and therefore making solutions to fit that theory are bound for failure or an accidental success. windows products report their signatures in all these various forms, depending on individual product, identifying themselves as WinNT and various other things and then a version number of some sort. It doesn’t make the product Windows NT dependent in any way shape or form. It’s just an Id string with WinNT as part of it. Whilst it’s to be applauded for people to try to think for themselves. You should confirm theory with technical people before entertaining solution mode. That’s why i go to a car mechanic for opinions on car problems. I don’t fully understand how car subsystems work. Mechanics aren’t always right, but more often they get it right more so than a florist could. You can’t make up how computer hardware and software works. it’s designed to work in specific ways in a layered fashion that becomes seemingly simple to use but quite complex under the hood. You need at least a base understanding of how a lot of stuff works in a computer before educated guesses start being viable possibilities. All the best to you.
