A lot of u don’t know about this, so cake explain for u:

Yeah so Wolfenstein Enemy Territory old. Ppl run into problems that can’t be fixed cos ET just so old and ET also complain when it hop on the bus that it cost more these days. There no new modern version.

..or is there?

Remember they open-sourced wolf et. So some dudes took the source-code & have made a modern replacement EXE. This is all compatible with regular ET and you just replace the files.

Introducing Enemy Territory: Legacy! <—- Look at it. LOOK AT IT! Cake rub his bum on it joyfully. One by one over time they been replacing the subsystems with new modern code and all sorts of things have been repaired or replaced. This kind of thing is called a source-port.

They're also re-writing the master server. That has all the security problems fixed & stuff. We should give these guys support. And by support we don't mean support like what joker does. Some times cuddles aren't enough.

It also look like they're making a web-based ET:

Apparently there issues with etpro though because apparently that not open-souce (figures). But it runs on OZ server just fine for cake.

Oh Hi Doug, don’t worry I’m not stalking you..

After reading the wiki, sounds like they just modernized some of the ET code, fixed a couple of known exploits & security issues (help stop ddos attacks)….and removed what they call ‘unwanted cvars’?!?…ohhkay

Perked my interest until I read the wiki, nice work tho cake.

Imagine if someone upgraded the engine on ET…added some knew shit like …having a pacific campaign with japs? ..and then released it on steam…or am I talking battlefield or mw series

It’s interesting cake and it would be interesting to hear what players think of it after playing the ET Legacy version.

but fkc ET is up against it with all the incredible new games continuing to come out it’s a wonder anyone plays it at all

I think players were looking for ET’s replacement but it just never seemed to arrive…there were a series of 1/2 arsed attempts that probably left a bad taste in peoples mouths so they eventually gave up and moved on.
RIP ET:dead:

Not many games really focus on this aspect sadly, most are pushing for the “every man for himself” attitude, which is a shame.
