School just rolled out new laptops, and i’ve already put the appropriate aspects of the game on to a USB drive, to run it – as it works at home, but as soon as i come to school, it wont seem to connect it to the internet. School is strict about no games, but is there a way i can by-pass this issue?

OS: Windows 7
Internet Security: Windows ForeFront

Any help will be appriciated.
Regards,

Short Answer No, they have most outbound ports blocked most likley except 80 and few others so it’s not possibly to use teh school internets to play as it runs through there network configuration.

I read the other day about tunnelling WoW over ssl to play it behind firewalls. It uses an ssh port to connect to an ssh proxy you set up at home. So you ssl to your home machine and it forwards all ur stuff on to blizz.

I read up on it because I caught some derp playing wow at work the other day and wanted to know how the futz managed to get around our firewalls (I work in a bank).

Pretty sure this would be derped for an FPS though. It would introduce a lot of lag.

Test.

PUTTY is one program that can do an SSH connection.

Here it is: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

I had to use it when I was working on my honours project to log into VPAC.

Basically yes it can work as noobitup suggested however your PC needs to be setup as well to receive the connection and if you know your linux language to make the setup.
