buy a car and good net.. k go

Got a car but with the traffic in melbourne is really getting worse so its better to catch a late running (and/or slow) train than inhale smog and move slower than the train system itself.

“koala in the gum tree’

WTF?

I demand you leave our nation immediately.

Apologies in advance any New Zealanders, Death is coming to join you.

‘sheep in the gum tree’ does not KOMPUTE!

What I don’t get is why target iiNet & not Telstra directly?

Because Telstra is government owned

umm, no its not. Thankyou Mr Howard.

The government still owns 10.9% of Telstra therefore any legal action brought against a organisation that the government has finacial interests in would yeild representation by QC’s.

Moe, calling something “Government owned” implies the govt has at least a controlling share IMHO.

They flogged that off a while ago.

Test.

What about the new fibre optics cables going through, who will own that infrastructure? Or will it be the same as Everything else has.. Government owned and then sell it off to private companies.. like Telstra?

From my understanding: Telstra owns the vast majority of existing copper lines. The NBN (National Broadband Network) is a government based company thing and is putting in the fibre optic lines, and they’ll own them, and rent them out to the ISP’s, I think. That way, Telstra won’t be getting money from people who aren’t actually their customers like they do now/used to.

Someone like Moe or someone older (than me) feel free to correct me.

All you need to know is that NBN, net censorship and also Stephen Conroy are all gay with one thing in common.
They are the biggest waste of tax payers money. Someone headhunt David Kiely to take over Stephen Conroy’s spot!!!

Your an inbecile full stop.

There was another interesting one with regards to some aussie band copying “koala in the gum tree’ tune and the lady/teacher who made that song will get paid royaltes of up to 60%….it was some big aussie band back in the 80s that copied it.

God I hate you. it’s “kookaburra sits in the old gum tree” and the melody was used in Men at Work’s “i come from a land down under”.

Where do you live again?

Even I knew this.
I’m sure even most of the NZ’ers know this, too.

Your correct and I agree, I stand corrected with my initial statement.
But I still beleive the government would appoint QC’s with any legal action taken against Telstra.

What I find exhausting is how the arguments/dilemmas/court battles are framed, or described.

Like, how an argument is described in 1 sentence can guide public opinion as much as any statements of those involved ever will.
For example, ‘RIAA fights to protect artists rights from piracy online’ is a great way to summarize the situation in the RIAA’s favour. Implying all kinds of things. Where in reality they are just fighting to protect a business model which no longer fits the infrastructure and technology we have available to us.

My personal opinion is that I find it angering to see that media companies are making record profits (and they are) yet at the same time enforcing all kinds of restrictions which ruin our personal liberties and rights to information. I find it heartbeaking though to see that govt’s and people in power see see arguments as described by media companies, and are acting to take away our rights and ability to process information and own our own media. You know, all the secret ACTA copyright stuff. The internet censorship stuff. All that.

The worst part, by far though is that its hard to convey these things to the public en mass, and voters are stupid. Its enough to rip the life right out of you when youre surrounded by people who freely vote their freedoms away; and you have to explain that youre not the bad guy.

does this box go out to the internetnt? HI MUM! LOOK IM BPUTTING WORDS ON THE COMPUTR AND THEY COME OUT THE OTHTER SIDE ON OTHER PEEOPLESSSSS COMPUTER

100% agree with all you have said cake. The thing that really sticks in my craw however is that I see no viable alternative to the 2 major parties come election time. They are both hell bent on removing our cyber liberties.

We need a pirate party already for the senate.

Ever thought of going into politics cake? You will get my vote.

Vote #1: Cake for senate.

Test.
