This has got to be the ultimate song, in my experience, of honour in war. This isn’t the best version I’ve heard but the lyrics are powerful, none-the-less. Written in 1902 about 2 kids growing up, and then fighting on opposite sides of the American Civil war. One of them rides in from the Union ranks and rescues his childhood friend who has been fighting for the enemy. Timeless!

This song is a tribute to all those people who risk their lives to save not only people they have known for a long time or family, but complete strangers. It encompasses all that is good about the human spirit!
“And She did throw a wave to a particle, relatively, and generally, often, pausing only to spraypaint some antimatter with bricks.” Verse 6, Chapter 9, Book of AsTrollogy, The Psychic Testament
