And we are now stuck in limbo for possibly up to 2 weeks.. with 80000 useless votes by Australian’s who aren’t bothered to voice an opinion for the government they live under.

All political parties listen to the people, thats why they have local candidates spying on us. The question is whether they listen/act on it or not.
As for senator online, thats just stupid…….. put it this way, what will happen if 4chan decides to troll that place. How effective will that party be?

they only listen at election time, once that’s over its up to them what they decide, they do not ask the people, you vote them in because you think they share similar views to yourself and HOPE they will do things the way you would like.
everyone is entitled to there opinion though, you don’t think it would work, that’s your opinion, i would never force my opinion on someone else.

4chan lol

Actually the good ones do get involved with the community.
Just attend some of the local council meetings(happens once a month) or if you have a problem write to your local member.
The ones that dont get involved with the community pretty much get booted off in future elections.

Yep, I dont think SOL will work unless they’re able to register a broad group of eligible voters which is pretty much impossible.

Yeah, the point of electing a politician to represent you is that you just have to vote once. Keeping up with all the issues and voting on everything would be a full time job if you wanted to do it properly. And that full time job is known as ‘politician’. The trouble with the senator-on-line is that the only people that would vote on specific issues would be a small group of weird political nerds, a small group of people who don’t fully understand the issues they are voting on, and anon. A huge demographic of peoples voices wouldn’t be represented which kinda goes against the point of Australia’s democracy.
