Unlike !gib or !disorient or firegod or god mode or anything like that, chances are people won’t be able to tell if they briefly use shownormals to see through walls. That’s what sets it apart as being really abusable compared to the others. It’s essentially giving every admin a wall-hack toggle.

Your preferred option works unless it’s when you are playing that a hax is on, in which case I’m quite sure you’d prefer option a, and have voiced same previously during play. You are also missing the fact that it’s often the skillful, common-sense wielding players that alert us to the hax in the first place, and often they’ve been speccing them already. This ground has already been covered Frog.

Its a valid point, but all the admins are either decent at the game (hicks, horus, etc), and there are others who couldn’t care less about how many times they day, and are only on for the fun of it (joy, ama, etc). All admins are level headed when it comes to the game, so I personally see no issue in trusting admins with this command.

But as you have seen in the past. If a person does a ban for hax and doesnt have that demo and that ban gets disputed. well pretty much in all cases i have seen the ban has been lifted.

so nothing really changes there. demos still need to be uploaded.

but thats the thing. the ppl placed in these positions have been done so because they are trusted and level headed whether you agree or not.

i really dont see the point in jumping to spec. hitting shownormals. seeing where everyone is. jumping back into game lol. by that time EVERYONE has moved or died anyways lol.

Shownormals i agree allows you to see if a player is tracking though walls etc but have you ever seen it in spec mode? there is so much crap going on i cant make out what is what half the time. only time you really can see detail is when u /follow frog after the /shownormals lol. otherwise it just looks like a whole heap of moving white lines lol. i cant even tell the diff between allies and axis on that mode but i can see a dirty haxor tracing something through the walls whether its a teammate or enemy thats enough for me.

I guess as this is a OZ clan server your really gonna have to trust the oz admin team to do what they do. We dont have pb so on this server i guess these guys are your pb

Myself. Well you can say whatever u like here lol. i guess defending myself would look silly. all i can do is assure you i have used it 2 times in my time at oz and it was in banning that Canadian both times.

hey and if you have a problem and think that an admin/dev is using it, there is nothing to stop you from taking a demo and everyone looking into it later on with shownormals. it would be just as easy to spot back lol

Wouldn’t it be easier for this list of trusted admins to download a wallhack and just toggle it on when they are watching a suspected cheat?

And just in case you missed it (you likely did, as otherwise you probably wouldn’t have made a new thread about it) – it only works in spec. So even if an angry admin was annoyed after being killed 50 times by you, the most they could do is go spec and watch your normals. And as for me, wallhax wouldn’t be any advantage, I already know where you are – I just can’t kill you yet. :rnade:

in all fairness i am in double figure bans… a couple my own fault due to my competitiveness and alot due to blackhawk and some other admin that was convinced i hax and has left… i think his name was bullet bed or something?
either way the only person who is likely to ban me from the OZ admining team is Fraggle or hicksy if i piss him off enough lolz
most of the time they know its me when i try hard to alias :S

well basically i think it has something to do with the free traffic you can get on WAIX servers here in WA and iinet and telstra are at disagreement over it.. so basically Telstra have blocked all West Australian IINET users from viewing Telstra based sites

im pretty sure its something like that… either way.. no love from telstra at this end :<
