What’s the deal with the forums not being arranged by chronological order, and threads reading newest to oldest? I get how you can change it with two clicks but I don’t wanna have to reload the page twice every time. It’s total gay bro.

Is there some setting I can change?

Hi Frog,

By threads do you mean posts within a thread? And when your viewing the threads within ecah forum section, I thought I was going crazy today but they aren’t ordered, I think their ordered by title name or something weird, can you verify this that I’m on the same train of thought.

Edit: I have adjusted this forum to display newest to oldest let me know if that’s what you mean, it then have to be manually adjusted for every forum, as each forum is customisable in display order.

Regards

Hi Frog ๐Ÿ™‚

On the front page of forums, when you’re logged in, just under the OZ banner is ‘Welcome, Frawgdawg’ and then a ‘Settings’ link just to the right of that… Click that ‘Settings’ link.

On that screen, near the bottom left of screen is all the ‘My Settings’ options…

My Account -> General Settings

On that screen, most the way down, is a group of ‘Thread Display Options’…

Thread Display Mode: Linear – Newest First

That should display the newest forum posts first…

@BlackRacoon The change you made is on the right track but I think you ordered them by thread creation date. I think it would be more useful to order them by last post date so that the threads that have the newest posts in them appear first. And obviously apply this change to the whole forum, not just the suggestions section. But yeah I think we’re on the same page.

@amacide Cheers that helped. I would have thought it would be “oldest first” by default as that is the only way I have ever seen posts within a forum arranged.

This will unfortunately cause old revived threads that someone posts on to come up to the top if someone chooses to, and also means new threads that are created. Different ordering works for different situations, in this clan situation I’m not sure if your method or the current one on this is more appropriate.

Tomorrow afternoon we will be adjusting all the forums to the last post date appear first method and we will see how that holds for a bit of a trial :).

Thanks for pointing this out Frog, ETA is 3:00pm Tomorrow afternoon to be finished on all forums.

Regards
