i wanted to suggest if we could get a command like resetxp but resetkd if those who hate there kd can reset it and can redo it from scratch like xp.

Yeah just go to your ETMAIN folder and delete your ETKEY. Reconnect to OZ and this will give you a new GUID and fresh K/D.
When you connect though u will get a message saying “Banned for hax” or something, just reconnect and you will be fine.

I think there is only one small problem with deleting your ETKEY to reset K/D, you will also reset any level or ranking you have on the server.
I think the admins with setlevel will get sick of having to re-level you.

It’s not broken, it just gets more accurate as time goes on. If you have done any statistics you will know that datasets get closer to the median value as you proceed down the set. Same thing here, people like rainbow etc get high K/D ratios by getting a new key and getting say 50 kills to 10 deaths. That will make the K/D rise really high as the K/D will be based on only one value, as he plays however, if he starts to get less kills and more deaths etc it will be lowered as it starts to get averaged. That is how one player got a 10 K/D ratio as they just played with bots with a new ET key and probably got like 100 kills to no deaths.
So that is the blurb on the K/D ratios 😛 I personally wouldn’t make a !resetkd command as it just lets people alias easier, and that annoys me 🙂

Im with CHRONIC on this one – KD is defiantly very dodgey.
Ive experimented before; given 5000 dmg and recieved 0 and gone roughly 30 – 0..
And my KD has gone down.

I started fresh, got a 87-12 and ended up on 1.2kd?

I have found through experience that at the end of a map, if you are say at a 30-10 on a overall 3.0 kd, it wont necessarily go up.
I know that if you get on a large killing spree 15+ then it goes up quite fast. Also say you have a “bad day (5 Deaths consecutive)” it will drop alot there.

Also depends on how you die. I tested this the other day and found my k/d went down when i got a 5 death spree from getting killed by players, but my k/d wasnt affected when i jumped off the lighthouse in lighthouse 5 times.

Actually I’ve worked out the k/d thing completely and now know how to get a k/d up to 3+ with an actual k/d breaking even. Did it the other night with rainbow starting out at a 4.3 and I started with a 3. By the end I had 4 and rainbow went down to about 3.8ish even though we had very similar scores throughout.
I’ll start handing out some etkeys to noobs so they can feel the joy of having a high k/d.
