I dont really care about KD ratio but im always stuck at around 1.6-1.7. The ammount of kills ive done and times died (via the stats page from OZ server) doesnt add up to the KD while im on the server. Not sure how its calcualated but wouldnt be suprised if KDs of other players per map are taken into account….meeeh got not clue on this lol.

The fact that you use noob weapons doesnt help you. Also the fact that you cant aim further restricts your KD.

i believe it is based on this rating system;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELO_rating_system

so might shed some light on subject, also im pretty sure the k/d is based around the player killrating

g_killRating [bitmask]

When not set to 0 etpub will track a player’s killing ability using an ELO type statistic similar to chess. Each kill will increase a player’s kill rating based on how hard the kill was. Killing unskilled players will result in very few points whereas an unskilled player killing a skilled player will result in more points. Kill rating also takes into account the weapon used (less for arty, more for knife).

Here are the bitflag options:

1
Use kill rating. A dummy flag since any non-zero value for g_killRating will enable it.
2
Make kill rating visible. Players can use /killrating and at the end of each map a message will display the top killers for the map and overall.
4
Log files will include the GUIDs of the players involved in kills. This makes kill tracking a lot easier.

the elo rating system is also used for player rating

All the ways you wish you could be, that’s me. I look like you wanna look, I f*#k like you wanna f*#k, I am smart, capable, and most importantly, I am free in all the ways that you are not.

servers about fun not about how good you can aim:P.

kd isnt broke its just very strict on going up if you doing well thats why i have a huge problem with it, i can go on sprees it will go up like 1-2 but if i die once it drops like 5-15 but i think its because of how many kills you have in total and how man deaths you have in total and calculates from there.

thanks

From deleting my etkey many times i’ve found that it’s very dependent on how you die (i’m kind of a genius). I’m not sure if it’s dependent on how good or bad the other persons KD is.

For instance goombah, knife and needle = mass boost.

Smg/k43 = moderate.

Noob weaps = little increase.

It’s kind of annoying if you want to play rnade and keep a high KD because even if you get the same KD ratios as you get as medic, it doesn’t appear like that because it must consider rnade newbier.

All I know is /kill isn’t effected by it. (I think?)

half your skill is in your config
