– Changing class quickly (its called ‘L’ selecting new class and then DYING you know, if you value the obj or whatever that much suicide shouldnt be an issue)
– To reach an objective faster (again if you value the obj that much suicide shouldnt be an issue)
– To save time in reaching other destinations (everybody else just walks. Get over it.)
– When you’re stuck (you could ask someone to shoot you, heck if all else fails quickly disconnect and reconnect, after all you’re not worried about your killsprees at all)
– For ammunition (that’s what fieldops and ammo racks are for)
– For health (thats what medics and med racks are for)
– Grab the flag –> /kill for invulnerability (since when has invulnerability been allowed in a game?)
– Simply for the invulnerability if enemies are around spawn to gain an advantage (just suck it up and die valiantly FFS.)So /kill is disabled because of….
/kill is disabled because of spreehuggers who sit there stroking their k/d ratios and dont REALLY care about objectives, simply using that as a defense, I dont see why you should be able to /kill before a panzer hits, its not how the game is meant to be played. Imagine if everybody /killed before you could kill them, would that make the game more fun? Maybe we should try that some time? Of course we could simply gib you as you come out of the spawn, hey you like doing it so much why not skip the faffing about and cut to the chase?

Omfg. What a stupid notion. In fact your entire last paragraph is asinine. It’s silly banning a command that is essential to gameplay for a minority of ‘panzer noobs’. EVERYONE can /kill, if the panzers want kills they should learn to SMG and then people (typically) can’t /kill to avoid a death.
Why would the change be implemented if you can’t think of valid reasons to have it applied in the first place?

blu, c’mon now, you don’t kill for just those situations. And you aren’t a typical player. I’d actually suggest a kill limit if it’s doable, maybe 3-5 per map. It does have it’s uses, but when players use it 10 and 20 times per map (and not mainly for the reasons mentioned above, it’s usually just for completely selfish reasons, not for obj or team), then it’s silly.

You shouldn’t bring terms like selfish into video games. I do agree that I /kill on panzers A LOT, but then again when I go panzer I regularly get the same thing. I don’t complain. I also DO actively /kill for ALL those other reasons – especially for ammunition or to /kill then reinforce defense or the objective. /kill is fair game and it shouldn’t be interfered with because it’s not exploiting anything. EVERYONE can do it. EVERYONE gets it done to them.

Also, you can’t cry that it’s not meant to be used because if that were true then why is it in the game at all and not patched out? It was in RTCW and every version of ET, so clearly the developers saw nothing wrong with it.

just to ad my 2 cents worth not that i don much but meh ๐
im sure its possible to limit the use of /kill in game cause i’ve played servers that have . and some even have it set that if you use /kill to much the server will automatically kick you and ban for like 5 min hehe hated that server lol . . . .
but even though i should be on oz side i dont c y u wuld totally disable /kill id say limit it would be the better way if they wanna cut it bak.

You may look at us /killing as being selfish
But alot of the time me blusky, g etc /killing is the only thing thats stopping the obj getting done in 1 minute.
Pushing out and /killing has been around since ET started.

dont count it as a death, just make it so that it ends your streak.
main reasons i do it is for ammo/panzer/health/change class/objective.

3 times per map lol. I probably use it on average about 3-5 times. If i can then i always try to straife panzers, otherwise i quite enjoy the nubs calling me a noob for /killing ๐

Another well thought out decision by the OZ admins. It’s not like people on the forums discussed WHY /kill is in the game and WHY it is a good thing. It’s not like people on the forums had superior points of view compared to the awful points for removing /kill that the admins stated. The discussion seemed to be in favor of keeping /kill as it is. The single admin response was absolutely terrible. Keith and I stated why /kill should be enabled. In fact the only person to make a good suggestion was overmars, his other comment also kept the topic going.
If it counted as death I think that would work. At least we’d then see who is actually doing it for the right reasons. ๐
Why not just do this? It would be an inconvenience for getting kill streaks but it’s still better than smacking your head on the admin button and limiting it to such a minute number.
If you were to change it to what you’re thinking a number round 10 would be much better and still make you think about /killing. 3 is way too small. If you simply made it count as a death it wouldn’t matter (except for ruining kill sprees). It’s similar to ETPro and no one would complain about it. It would be nice to have someone that isn’t a ‘panzer noob’ and has an idea on game mechanics inside the admin team to give us a voice on issues like this.
Do you even read our posts? Could you not see majority of the (good) responses were to keep /kill? Seriously, it’s like throwing suggestions at a narrow minded brick wall that vomits up useless dribble filled responses.
