I see your point messenjah and I’m assuming that was serious. I thought about re-implementing it again, however it does just cause too many problems for too many clients, I for one have little to no trouble with punkbuster and it runs perfectly but apparently it causes trouble, and from statistics a while back, 1/4 of gamers were having trouble with it.

In my opinion, we have more then enough mods on to take care of hackers, and we also have our own cvar restriction implementation created by amacide. Also we have custom ban system also created by amacide which is better then the standard pb ban, since that is based purely off IP and GUID, (for note, etpub uses the same things, however etpub uses the pb guid, essentially the same ban system).

PunkBuster is a great anti cheat program.

I think we should implement it on the OZ etpub and etpro servers for the following reasons;
– It detects private and public hacks
– Its constantly updated by a committed team of developers
– It doesn’t effect game play at all
– Its completely lag free
– It enables some interesting and useful commands like pb_sleep and pb_security
– It never kicks people for the wrong reasons, only if they are hacking
– It works perfectly on all new operating systems
– Its 100% free. What more could you want?

It also doesnt like some o/s and will lock players out for running legitimate o/s if its not windows.
Its update lifespan is numbered for this game.
It affects gameplay in the form of lag.
Those commands dont have anything to do with headshots.
It kicks people for changing their names if it feels its done too often.
I notice a big difference with it running, fps drop sometimes, warping etc. On a non pb server same config, smooth as.

I dislike it.
