Im with cake on this, the filter is trying to solve a problem that didn’t exist, all the while alienating regulars. Im all for stamping out excessive verbal abuse but there is a difference between abusive behavior and swear words; these situations need to be dealt with individually not with some blanket filter.

It seems the only time the admins come on the server these days is to fiddle with it. We need active admins who understand the game and the people who play it. If you came on the server regularly you would realise the majority of players are 18+ who enjoy a bit of banter and sledging. I see online gaming as an extension of the internet and its one of the caveats of the internet that you’re gonna see a whole bunch of shit that you never planned on seeing good or bad. Its not even the fact that I can’t call someone a <unt anymore, its more to do with the principle of censorship and freedom of speech.

I think the regulars needs more input on these issues. It’s a broken system having admins that never play on the server making these sorts of decisions. Advertise a particular proposal on the server, and then get regulars to come on to the forums to vote on a referendum. Enough of this North Korean dictatorship ffsfscFSSfs.
