COD?

Hey Guys,

Just wondering what people thought of COD and what they like about the game. I like aspects of both games though I haven't played COD in years.
What is everyone's thoughts on these games and their differences?

If you go form ET to COD, you own everyone. Thats what i like about CoD. Also, the variety of guns, powerups and custamization-ability in MW2 is great.

Yeah personally I only played COD, COD2 and I think maybe a little bit of COD3?
So what do you like about these series then sunn?

I liked the more realistic feel to it. (i.e. dying from a single headshot.) Just disregard the fact you could regenerate your health if you weren't shot for a while.

Also; BOLT ACTION RIFLES!

I loved Mw2 personally, no skill just run around and knife people from 3 meters away. NO.1 Fragger every time. Then I go back to ET and get no.1 Effing deaths ;( XD.

Meh I bought COD5 after OGN folded in an attempt to get myself off the ET smack. I played it for about a day or so & got bored. Too slow for me, but my main annoyance was complete lack of general chat. Absolutely no banter on general chat. I come for the pew-pew, but I stays for the lolz. :lol:

I played COD for a bit competitively at quite a high rank in AUS - I hate it....compared to ET, I haven't played much of the newer ones.

any FPS game you play after ET is ganna be a little easier, ET requires the best general accuracy imo, alot of cod,cs and even combat arms series are all pretty lotto with quite a large variety of weapon spray when you fire

Well the reason I asked was because I was thinking of combining these two games in a mod.
Thing is, I don't think I could be bothered if everything thought it was a bad idea from the start. I would probably make it and if people wanted to have a crack, we could run it for one day on the OZ server for sh!ts and giggles.
This is what I was thinking of doing:
Insta-spawn on death
More realistic damage values
Removal of medpacks and instead everyone slowly regains health
No prone
Slightly reduced accuracy or smaller head hitboxes to make it harder to kill with higher damage values

So my design reasons for adding these components are to make a quicker gameplay by having higher damage values and allowing inst-spawing. The removal of medpacks would also make it harder for people to run in a firefight, it will be all about the PEW PEW. No prone, 'nuff said. Accuracy needs to be reduced if the damage values go up since all the sharp shooters would just run around and have a field day.
These are just my initial ideas, if people want to see it happen or have some suggestions feel free to post. If no one wants to play it, that's cool too I just won't go to the bother of making it so no loss :lol:

Well with the higher damage rates and things like that it just seems more fair if people don't just drop down to the ground in a fight. Sure in ET at least you might have a chance since but I think in the new mod it would be too easy to just prone and prawn.

Well triggs may i sugget for your mod:

SMG's are inaccurate and fire faster,
Engi-rifles are fine as they are, maybe nerf up the damage, and get rid of charge - only have 2 rnades per dude.
Covi's dont have satchels on charge, they get 2 satchels and can use both at the sam time (is this possible?)

other than that it would be great :D

SMG's faster fire rate? That will be abused you can bet on it,less accurate is only applicable if you spray & pray which pro's don't.
Limiting Rnades on a slow fire weapon vs a faster than normal SMG? LMAO!
Satchels being limited is a not good idea if Ng's can rebuild what you satchel'd.

Limit number of times you can /kill per map without penalty,would make for an interesting game.

Yeah I was thinking that sunn, but then I thought, lets try it anyway.
It is more for the PEW PEW more than the objective due to the settings I would make, but you could always try maps with really small or simple objectives to give some people something to do while the rest go on a killing rampage. If it is a simple objective then they might just be able to get it done amongst the insane respawn all over the place :lol:
Oh and I was thinking of getting rid of /kill or at least only giving you maybe 2-3 per map. This stops people /killing to get new health and all that, remember this mod is all about the getting up there and pew pewing, not streaks or anything stupid like that. The 2-3 will let those who actually want to do the objective to do so if they choose. Don't worry, panzer will be heavily nerfed, you will need to be good to use the panzer and there will be that medpack thingo in there to stop noobs shooting their feet ;)

Why re-invent the wheel when theres already a LMS mod or a complete CS/COD styled mod called True Combat Elite.
