Ive got 3 major problems and i hope someone has answers to my questions.
#1 My computer is constantly turning itself off, especially when i play et.. now ive cleaned the computer out from the inside so it's not dirty and also ive ran virus scans on my computer so it's not a virus i have no idea what it could be. P.S it usually shuts itself down when i'm multi tasking, for eg ET / MSN or something along those lines.

#2 I cannot change my cfg from default outside the game, when i try to make changes it declines it and tells me i need permission from the administrator?

#3 I cannot seem to get on etpro, ive tried downloading it many times, patch 2.0b ect.. but when i try to connect to the OZetpro server it dcs me and gives me a message 'Incorrect ET.exe.

Id appreciate some help lads, thanks for listening

yours truley rAmpage. !

1. Could possibly be a process failing and on the third attempt would be restarting your computer.. but this could be many things.. any error messages at all?
2. Make sure you have full administration privelages or at least write and append permissions on that directory ET is installed to.
3. Did you patch to 2.60 first then install the 2.60b patch. The link for 2.60 is http://etozclan.com/files/ET_Patch_2_60.exe, then the 2.60b patch is, http://etozclan.com/files/et-2.60b.zip

Kind Regards, BR

Yep, definetely Ram causing the shutdowns if its not a worm/virus.

Try removing ram and blow out any dust in the the slots, and re-seat ram.

If still havin issues, try 1 ram stick at a time.

Download pc doctor or something similar and do a full hardware test.

If it shutsdown it will Blue screen 1st, get the BSOD error number and google for the cause(error will be something like 0x*********)

9 out of 10 times a BSOD is memory related.

Cheers

Trains right, RAM should be the first thing to check. As he said, try one at a time and in different slots.

Otherwise there might not be enough juice? Have you put any new parts in lately that would increase your power usage? Or is your PSU old? It could be starting to fail and not give it enough power.
