Technical question ?

I have an external HDD that windoze labelled External Drive (J:) when plugged in. My son had some mates over on the weekend and they temporarily plugged another external HDD into a usb slot and now my ext HDD is labelled External Drive (K:) so now all my shortcuts etc are invalid.

I tried renaming the drive by right clicking but that just renamed it to External Drive (J:)(K:) which really helped not.

Any suggestions please ?

Easy as thing to change. Here's how:

1. Open us DIsk Management. It should be called something like 'Create and format hard disk partitions' if you wanna type that into the start menu in Windows 7. Or just type in 'disk' into Control Panel search and it should pop up. I'm sorry, but I don't know the proper way of getting to it.

2. Click on the disk you want to change the letter of.

3. Right click -> Change drive letter and paths

4. Change, pick the letter J from the drop-down folder, and click OK. Then click ok to whatever else pops-up.

Magic! Everything works again!
