Minecraft 1.3 | OZ Server Changes

For those of you who don't know, Minecraft 1.3 will be released on the 1/8/2012 and will be bringing a lot of neat and exciting things to single player Minecraft, these include Mysterious Desert Pyramids, Jungle Temples, Trading with Villagers and a Unique mineral called Emerald. We would really like to include these features into our server as well as revamping our OZ world and making it newer, more exciting and fun to play on.

Many people have already told us there opinions on this, but we want to get the community as aware, and as involved as possible, please comment on this and tell us what you think we should do or make a comment with your vote below about OZ World and Economy.

Current Suggestions about the PVP WORLD:

(A)
Completely reset OZ PvP world! This will wipe everything, Everyone will start again in a new world with nothing, and will work their way up No Mcmmo Skills, No Items, No Bases, Nothing! The reasoning behind this is, that some players have Millions of dollars in there bank, and countless amounts of diamonds/tnt/obsidian whereas new people are struggling to survive, this will even the playing field and new alliances and enemies will be formed. We will also be ensuring to make sure the server is a lot more Hardcore, Staff will not be changing spawners, Pvp will be more encouraged (tournaments), m
ore reward systems, custom events, mini games, something that will make the server unique to other servers and Donation items nerf'd. This will ensure that people start out fairly, and it is fun, and a challenge to play on.

(B) Reset the OZ PVP world!
This will Only Reset the Map Nothing Else Player will still be as rich as they previously where, we could use the giant mushroom bank to allow players to store there loot temporarily, Then when the world resets it will be a race to see who builds there base first, It will still be exciting, but not as much of a challenge and unfairer to new people. We may still include some elements from the hardcore pvp world, such as more events, and perhaps remove changing spawners, but overall, things will be simmilar, just a new map. This will also be beneficial because our current map, has alot of rubble from the past and has a few chunk errors.

(C) Do Nothing, We just want schem's in!

The world will not change, and things will be the same, but staff will go around playing in schematics of Jungle Temples and Desert Pyramids, things will stay the same in terms of bases, and biomes and it will still be very hard for new players. But if you want to keep what you have, then perhaps it may be the best option.

(D) Other - Comment in your suggestion!

Current Suggestions for the Economy:

(A) realistic player based economy! People should have to work for their items, or if they want to buy, it should be at the expense of another player doing the grind and getting the items thereselves. The spawnshop should be replaced with market stalls, where player can purchase say 8 doublechests of space, so 8 items in a chestshop, for xxx ammount of days for xxx ammount of money, and if they are selling at the right price, keeping things in stock they will make a profit, hopefully making the server more legitment, and more hardcore.

The only thing spawn should be buying, is something like gold ingot. Because gold has no really worth in pvp, or construction, it is a good "currency" of sorts, that spawn would buy for xxx ammount of cash, that will then fuel the economy. This will also fix the glitch where people could get endless ammounts of money, form mistakes in spawn.

(B)Dynamic economy! Digital economy with inflation, this means that when an item is in high demand the price goes up, and when it is high supply the price goes down. This will make the economy more realistic, but everything will still be available, just at different prices during different times.

(C) We Like our Oz Shop! Keep It!
We will keep the Oz shop, but possibly do minor bug fixes on it, everything will be available at a staple price, and it will be business as usual.

(D)
Other - Comment in your suggestion!

Another issue that has come up is, the world size. Some people say that it is to big, others say that it is fine. Regardless if it ends up being to small, we can always expand it.

(A) From +3000 to -3000,
a size giving 6000x6000 space to build away in. People will not be so far away, and everyone will be in contact with each other.
(B) From +5000 to -5000
a size giving 10000x10000 space to build away in. People will still be able to reach each other, but you can go and hide away in the corners of the map.

(C) From +7500 to -7500
a size giving 15000x15000 space to build away in. People will be able to explore forever.

(D) Keep it at +10000x-10000!

Pvp : i think you should make like a world 2, this world 2 will have all the new jungle temples and all the new 1.3 stuff but, people get to keep their bases in the old world but, if anyone wants a base in the 1.3 world and wants to start over again or just wants to go through the 1.3 changes and adventure throgh then he can :)

[1.3] Changes In Minecraft Update!

[1.3 Update]

Hello, Everyone! If you are an active minecraft player on the -Oz- Server then your probably aware of the new minecraft update on 1/8/12 the update is 1.3 and includes many new features! I put this post up to make players aware of the new changes and to see there opinions!



Adventure mode
§ Only playable using commands
§ Building, setting things on fire and using buckets is disabled
§ Players can only interact with mobs and the environment
§ Players can place and take stuff from a chest furnace or dispensor!

Added trading
§ Using emerald as currency, villagers will, depending on profession, offer different trades to players
§ There are three kinds of trades: Selling, buying and enchanting
§ As displayed in the top-most part of the trading GUI, villagers take one or more items or item stacks and give back something
§ After trading, villagers will sometimes emit purple particles for a few seconds to indicate that their trades changed
§ Otherwise unobtainable bottles o' enchanting and chainmail armor can be obtained by trading

Improved experience collection
§ Depending on ore type, experience now drops from ores that drop items
§ Taking smelted items out of furnaces gives experience now
§ Destroying mob spawners gives experience now
§ Adjusted experience level progression:
§ Levels 1-15 cost 17 XP points each
§ Levels 16-30 cost 3 more XP points than the previous (cost = 17 + (level - 15) * 3)
§ Levels 31-∞ cost 7 more XP points than the previous (cost = 62 + (level - 30) * 7)

Improved enchanting
§ The new maximum level with bookshelves is 30, without 8
§ 15 bookshelves are enough to reach level 30
§ The 3rd slot shows the most expensive possible enchantment more often
§ Increased chances for multiple enchantments at once
§ Adjusted enchantments' to go with the new maximum level

Added writing in books
§ New crafting recipe for books: 3 pieces of paper and one piece of leather in any possible shape
§ New item: Book and Quill - Crafting recipe: 1 ink sac, 1 feather and 1 book in any possible shape
§ Right-click to write on & edit up to 50 pages or read
§ Click 'Done' to save the book, 'Sign' to choose a title and finalize the book

§ When suffering from poison potions, they will now spawn more silverfish from nearby silverfish blocks more often

§ Easy: ~50% less damage
§ Normal: same damage as before
§ Hard: 33.3…% more damage
§ Creepers & Spiders
§ Become aggressive towards the last mob or player that hit them now
