I must be doing it differently to you guys. I only ever ran straight down the hill, jumping like a maniac. And one out of 10 times I got to the top balcony thing. And about 4 out of 10 times, I lost health on the last jump from 'fall-damage'. The strafe keys (a and d) were never hit. W + Shift + Space FTW MAN!

Not the best explanation, but in essence if you aren't strafing you are doing it wrong.

You can so strafe jump by moving your mouse left to right or vice versa
and fall damage can be lessened with the use of crouch in mid-air.
