Cloverfield
I watched this yesterday. SO GODDAMN ANNOYING.
Pretty sure someone's done Godzilla/Starship Troopers before. It was just a mix of that. :/
LESS FIRST PERSON PL0X, too. Mind you, that South Park episode was awesome.

I also like Kung Fu/Martial Arts movies. Mainly the older ones, lol. Invincible Armour, Drunken Master, Five Venoms, Ninja in the Dragon's Den, The 36 Deadly Styles, Avenging Eagle, Duel to the Death, etc The best of recent times; Ip Man. But it's in Jappanese or dubbed Mandarin, so subtitles would be needed if you wanted to know what they're saying. I watched it without them, it seemed more interesting. :p It's also the film with THE BEST portrayal of Wing Chun Kung Fu. Chain punching ftw.

And I think I know why...

I was watching this movie with some mates and in our drunken cleverness came up with a competition to see who could have a picture of Jean Claude in his red underwear as their phones background for the longest. I woke early the next morning to receive the message "I'm out. My gf's younger sister went to use my phone and screamed".

As for some good movies, I endorse:

Favourites:
Donnie Darko
Into the Wild
The Big Lebowski (Probably my favourite)
Brick

Other Greats:
Fight Club
Lock, stock
Snatch
Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind
Sunshine
The Departed
Rocky 1-6
Memento
Pulp Fiction
Scarface
Trainspotting
Spinal Tap
Garden State

In no particular order these are movies noob sanctions:

Unforgiven
Shawshank
Godfather 1-2 (not 3 - it doesnt exist IMHO)
Starship troopers
Clerks
Spaceballs
3 amigos
Dude wheres my car
District 9
alien(s)
Rocky 1-3 (was was only good for the dolf lungren quote "I must break you", 5 & 6 jumped the shark)

Honorable mentions to the terence hill and bud spencer movies. Man, I grew up on those things. They were awesome as a < 10yo kid.

I can't wait for my little nub kiddies to get older so I can sit them down and educate them correctly with these titles. Mite have to leave clerks a while tho.

Oh, almost forgot. 2 interesting doccos i've seen recently are:
Man on wire
Rize

Both of those are well worth a look. Man on wire is almost compulsory viewing.

Anything with Denzel Washington/Leonardo DiCaprio/Brad Pitt is gold!
Wow I agree alot.

Never used to like Leo because I thought he was that teenage heartthrob from Titanic.. but he's a fucking good actor.. See Revolutionary Road for how good he is
I watched The Great Debators a few weeks ago.. Denzel was great in that
